Idaho residents over the age of 65 make up 11.6% of the state population. This is just under the national average of 12.4% Assisted living, long-term care and medical services can be found in the larger cities and towns such as Boise and Pocatello. However, Idaho has a lot of remote rural areas where assisted living may be harder to find.
Economy:
Idaho potatoes account for about one-third of all the potatoes produced nationally every year, but despite what many might think, potatoes make up only about 5 percent of economic output. Nearly 25 percent of Idaho commerce comes instead from science and technology companies. Some prominent examples include Micron Technologies, Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.
