Senior Life in Delaware

Delaware has a higher than national average of residents over the age of 65. 13.4% of its residents are over 65, as compared to the 12.4% US average (according to the 2006 census figures). Almost 115,000 people (as of last count) in Delaware are seniors. Delaware has many assisted living facilities with varying services and amenities.

Economy:

Delaware's largest employers are the state and federal governments, followed by the University of Delaware. The banking and credit card industries have found somewhat of a haven in Delaware thanks to favorable laws and regulations, and as such have a heavy presence as well. Sixty percent of Fortune 500 corporations are incorporated in Delaware thanks to the state's reputation for being a “tax haven.”
